In a time when social media trends often showcase children and teenagers embracing ungodly content like twerking videos and shallow entertainment, there are generally three responses from society:

  1. Indifference: Some watch and laugh, seeing nothing wrong.
  2. Concern without action: Others lament the moral decay, yet do little to address it.
  3. Neutrality: A third group sees it as neither good nor bad, just content.

But deeper than behavior is a heart problem; many children have heard about God, but few are taught how to know Him personally. This disconnect is a silent crisis, one that we at The Menora City Initiative (TMC), formerly known as the Foundation of Light Outreach (FOLO) is called to confront.

On the 22nd of November, 2023, our team visited Kaychitoe School in Makurdi with one mission: to teach young hearts how to build a personal relationship with God. The outreach was anchored around the powerful theme, “The Knowledge of God.”

Represented by Mary Albert, Juliana Adeyemo, and Blessing Abah, the TMC team ministered the Word to the pupils and students, helping them understand the difference between knowing about God and knowing Him intimately. As well as teaching them practically on how to know God intimately. We prayed with them, encouraged them, and shared the resources we had with them.

But the impact didn’t stop with the students. The teachers themselves testified to being immensely blessed by the message and prayers. Many expressed gratitude for the spiritual refreshment they received. In a heartwarming moment, the proprietress of the school took time to pray personally for all TMC partners and sponsors, invoking God’s blessings on everyone who supported the outreach.

It was a beautiful reminder that our seeds go further than we see; changing lives, inspiring hope, and awakening purpose.

To our sponsors and partners, we deeply appreciate you. Your love, giving, and faithfulness made this outreach a reality. We can’t wait to walk this journey again with you as we look forward to even greater impact in the year ahead.
